now the clocks have gone forward and it’s officially BST, probably one of the last winter comfort stew we will have for a while, unless of course it snows next week..
I really must get my shit together, the dog has been to the vet for a barrage of tests and we should find out if he has got something terrible like “I have to keep getting up in the night for a wee syndrome”, or whether he’s just being a little shit and taking the piss, so far the the latter seems likely, but until we know for sure, I’ll humour him and take him out, on Friday I put some beef skirt into a casserole to stew, but despite it being in there for what seemed like hours it wasn’t quite ready so I had to leave it until the next day and have sausage, egg and chips instead, Saturday I finally made the stew, it was a bog standard beef casserole with peas,carrots and mushrooms
in it and dumplings on the top..

I made some baps on Sunday, thought I ought to start bread making again before I lost the urge completely..
So obviously I needed a burger to go with them and as I had some veal mince left from the meatballs, this is simply
Veal and bacon burger:
I mixed the mince up with some onion, finely chopped smoked bacon and some grated cheese.
and stuck it in the oven.
I served it with some tomatoes.
and special sauce, which is just really English mustard,tomato sauce and mayo mixed together.
and it was delicious..
I’m going to make something similar but with more cheese in it next time, we had it with homemade potato wedges.
