To round it all off I had my very first Limoncello, which was gorgeous, apparently you can make it at home, so that will be my next project..
I’ve been doing my blog for a year now, I’m rather pleased that I’ve kept it up, it has certainly inspired me to attempt to cook something different for dinner most evenings, I’ve also discovered I like making bread, I’m not as rubbish at baking as I kept telling myself I was and I’ve even made my own sorbet and now I’m moving on to cheese, so with 169 followers and 237 posts under my belt you’d have thought I’d have come up with a spectacular anniversary post..
Well I didn’t, not because I forgot or anything but because I was lucky enough to have a mini break of respite with my best friend, Flossie and the lovely KD, which as usual ended with perhaps a little too much alcohol and has left me feeling a touch delicate today, I’m such a light weight these days, I really have no stamina at all..
The weather started off pretty crap and as expected for a Bank Holiday weekend it was raining when I left mine, but against all odds the sun came out by the time I’d arrived at hers 2 hours later and we were able to have BBq in the evening..
KD make some amazing Slimming world kebabs and the sausages were Tesco finest half fat.
we also had salad and slimming world fries, oh and finger rolls and some lovely olives with manchengo cheese, which you can’t see..
If I can get the recipe for the kebab marinade I will, they really were tasty, zingy and gingery, I shall make some myself..
It was the first time I’d had the cheese, it was delicious I’m going to buy some next time I’m shopping..
For dessert I had strawberries and blueberries, it was really lovely and I so appreciated having my dinner cooked for me by someone else..

I thoroughly enjoyed my break and because they are so infrequent all the more special to me..
I shall endeavour to make a special anniversary meal just as soon as i’ve been food shopping…
