I decided to do it with falafel, I wasn’t overly impressed with the result, too dense, probably didn’t add enough water, I might buy some ready made ones to see how they are meant to end up..
Two chicken dishes which look complicated but are actually really simple to make, the first one I made after I’d found a tin of Lebanese spice mix in Tesco, I decided to do it with falafel, I wasn’t overly impressed with the result, too dense, probably didn’t add enough water, I might buy some ready made ones to see how they are meant to end up..
Lebanese chicken with falafel
I coated the chicken in the spices and left them for an few minutes, over night would have probably been better but that’s hindsight for you, then roasted then in the oven.
In the meantime I made the falafel and cubed up some paneer cheese
Deep fried both
made a red onion and pomegranate pickle, which was just lime juice on the onion..
made a salad and served it with the chicken
not very difficult, incredibly tasty..
The following dinner was bloody awesome although it doesn’t look much, I love dahl and it’s really easy to make, so this for me was really yummy comfort food.
chicken and dahl with Indian roasties
I soaked the lentils all afternoon and boiled them until they were soft, then I added them to some cooked onion, a dollop of tomato puree, some curry powder and water and cooked them until they were mushy, I added some leftover chickpeas.
I had a maggi so crispy packet mix which I’d bought cos I had a money off token and added some madras curry powder to it before coating and baking the chicken
and served it with some little roasties which I’d seasoned with panch phoran
I loved it, but then I love anything with dahl
