I’m sure if it was warm by the time I got it home and we ate it, it would have been ok, I’d even go so far as to say, had the oil it was cooked in been fresh, it would have been nice,
On Sunday I asked Mr 5 what he fancied for dinner, my mind was a blank and I thought he might be able to inspire me, so I was pretty much gobsmacked when he said, can we have a KFC bargain bucket?
We’ve never, ever had a KFC, it wouldn’t even cross my mind to go out and get a takeaway for dinner, that is usually saved for Fish and chips once every few months and only if I’m out and on my way home, but I agreed and went out and got a 6 piece bargain bucket.
I could have written a thesis on the experience, but I won’t, suffice to say, I’m sure if it was warm by the time I got it home and we ate it, it would have been ok, I’d even go so far as to say, had the oil it was cooked in been fresh, it would have been nice, albeit incredibly salty..
The moral of the story, we won’t be having that again, make something similar at home and really enjoy it.
On the Monday I decided to have pasta, and Mr 5 had a dressed crab with rolls, he enjoyed it, looks rather boring to me, but then I think crab is vile.
Spinach, pancetta and tomato tagliatelle:
I decided to make a tomato based pasta for a change and use up some of the huge bag of tagliatelle I had in the cupboard which keeps falling out on me every time I open the door.
I sauted onions, garlic, then mushrooms and pancetta
added a splash of red wine, some chopped tomatoes and a little pasta water
then cooked it out
before adding some frozen spinach, I served it with a garlic ciabatta roll
and plenty of parmesan..
and it was delicious..
